HALO - Atari 2600 style

This is a brilliant idea, transforming the Master Chief - the poster child for modern, cinematic, exquisitely-rendered, 3d gaming - into the genderless ambulatory kitchen appliance-esque characters of my 8-bit childhood. What is new, becomes old (school).

(Props to Shane for finding this one.)

Robot Unicorn Attack

"Unicorns are cool, right? What if, though - what if... it was a robot unicorn. And - get this - it was constantly attacking things."

"That 's the best thing I've ever heard. But you know what would make it even better? That song by Europe."

"We're sitting on a gold mine."

The best 99¢ you'll spend today

The game's Bit Pilot for iphone/ipod touch. The music is hypnotic and even though you are playing on a device 1,000,000 times more powerful than an old-school Atari it's like you never shut it off for dinner that time in '86.
